The Consent Foundation is a not-for-profit collaborative initiative dedicated to advancing data privacy and consent management. It brings together a diverse group of stakeholders to promote privacy standards, develop open-source tools, and foster a community focused on data protection.
Membership is open to a wide range of stakeholders including consent managers, data fiduciaries, data processors, data privacy professionals, technology companies, and anyone interested in supporting data privacy and consent management initiatives.
The Consent Foundation undertakes several key initiatives including the development of a Distributed Consent Ledger, a Consent Directory, an Open Consent Engine, standardized notice templates, Consent Provenance Document Standards, and Data Processor Consent Validation APIs.
We promote data privacy awareness through research, public engagements, training programs, and by providing resources and tools that help organizations and individuals understand and manage data privacy effectively.
Members of the Consent Foundation gain access to exclusive resources, networking opportunities, collaborative projects, training programs, and a platform to contribute to the development of privacy standards and tools.
The Consent Foundation develops and provides various open-source tools such as the Open Consent Engine for managing user consents, APIs for data processors to validate consents, and standardized templates for privacy notices.

The Distributed Consent Ledger is a blockchain-based system developed by the Consent Foundation members to securely manage and record consent transactions, ensuring transparency and immutability.
The Consent Directory is a comprehensive database that allows users and organizations to access and manage consent information efficiently. It provides a centralized location for storing and retrieving consent records.
